(Telecompaper) Telekom Austria has emerged as the favourite to acquire Bulgarian mobile operator Vivacom, reports Austrian newspaper 'Die Presse'. Telekom Austria is already active in the country through mobile operator MobilTel, market leader with around 5.2 million customers. Telekom Austria is particularly interested in Vivacom's fixed-line business as MobilTel currently only offers mobile services. Morgan Stanley has been tasked with handling the sale of Vivacom and is currently calculating a sale price. However, any price is likely to be impacted by Viacom's hit debt burden of EUR 1.65 billion, which has put the company in danger of bankruptcy.
